Dr. John Piotrowski has been a lawyer at Jakoby Law Firm since 2009, with a specialization in procurement law, real estate law, and corporate law.

Dr. Piotrowski studied law at the Universität Trier, at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität in Kiel and at the Jagiellonen-Universität in Krakau. He completed his doctorate in European law with Professor Hofman at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt. Upon completion in 2012, he went on to do his postgraduate studies (LL.M.) at the Jagiellonen-Universität in Krakau with a final paper on procurement law.

Dr. Piotrowki advises public sector clients and bidders in all areas of procurement law. This also includes representing them in contract award review proceedings, especially before the procurement supervisory committee and the court of appeals in Berlin. Another major focus of Dr. Piotrowski’s work is advising companies in the planning and implementation of compliance measures relating to corruption allegations.

In the area of real estate law, Dr. Piotrowski offers advising on issues of commercial rental law. In contentious legal disputes regarding real estate or construction, Dr. Piotrowski supports his clients in finding fast and economical solutions. If a court dispute proves unavoidable, Dr. Piotrowski will fight before of all of the regional and higher regional courts throughout Germany for the enforcement of the legal interests of his clients.

Dr. Piotrowski also focuses on advising foreign companies on their entry into the German market, including counsel on the appropriate legal structure of German subsidiaries and on the structuring of the terms of employment with business directors and employees.
